Russian deputy FM downplays Armenia's decision to stop CSTO funding
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin has played down Armenia’s move to stop financing the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) after effectively suspending its membership in the Russian-led bloc.
“It is not a tragedy. The organization continues its activities,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the international business forum Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum 2024 on Thursday.
Pankin also stated that participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) lied in Armenia’s interests.
