Opposition MP reiterates support for movement led by Archbishop Bagrat
MP Hayk Mamijanyan, who heads the opposition Pativ Unem faction in the Armenian National Assembly, on Saturday reiterated his team’s support for the Tavush for the Homeland movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan.
“Everyone agrees that evil must be stopped. And everyone can unequivocally confirm that the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church can play the best role in it,” he told reporters following a meeting between the senior cleric and political parties in Yerevan.
“From the very beginning, the Pativ Unem faction and the RPA [comprising it] have declared that they will support by all means the prime ministerial candidate proposed by the movement, a candidate truly nominated by the people, starting from street protests to procedural issues in the Armenian parliament,” the MP noted.
