Armenian border village facing food problem amid entry ban
People in the border village of Kirants in Armenia’s Tavush Province are facing a problem accessing bread and foodstuffs amid an entry ban imposed by the police.
Police officers have blocked the entrance to the village for a few days now, allowing only local residents to enter or exit it.
Food delivery vehicles are also not allowed into the village.
"A bread delivery van came but was not allowed to enter the village. We sent a man from here to pick it up and bring to the village," a store worker told journalist Ani Gevorgyan on Monday.
Suppliers of other goods are also unable to get to the village and are forced to return back.
In response to the question whether they have been told how long this situation will last, the store worker complained: "Who are we to inform us?".
