Armenian parliament pays tribute to late Iranian president
The Armenian parliament observed a minute of silence in memory of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his entourage who were killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
At the start of a parliament session on Tuesday, opposition Hayastan faction secretary Artsvik Minasyan asked members to stand up and remain silent in remembrance of the victims, but Speaker Alen Simonyan, who was presenting the agenda of the session from the parliament podium at the time, objected to it.
Armenian lawmakers paid tribute to the late Iranian officials about 20 minutes after the start of the session.
