Expert: Turkey campaigning against protest movement in Armenia
Turkey is campaigning against the protest movement in Armenia led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, says Varuzhan Geghamyan, a Yerevan-based geopolitical strategist and regional security expert.
“Turkish media outlet Super Haber, owned by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's cousin Cengiz Er, released a report entitled "They will blame the Turks! Who will kill Armenian Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan?”,” the expert wrote on Telegram on Wednesday.
"The report alleges that Armenians themselves, with the assistance of the Armenian Diaspora, will kill Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, putting the blame on the special services of Turkey and Azerbaijan.
“In fact, this can be considered as an information campaign against Archbishop Bagrat and the popular movement led by him, as well as an undisguised threat given the identity of the media outlet owner,” Geghamyan noted.
