Son of famous Armenian singer arrested
Hrachya Ghevondyan, the son of popular Armenian singer Hayk Ghevondyan (better known as Spitaktsi Hayko), has been arrested on charges of attempting to usurp power, defense lawyers Erik Aleksanyan and Alexander Kochubaev reported on Wednesday.
“This is yet another absurd and politically motivated case,” the said in a social media post, promising to release details at a later time.
The young man has been actively involved in protests against the Armenian government’s unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan.
