Expert: Turkish media 'delighted' by Pashinyan's statements
Turkish media has been “delighted” by the latest statements of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, says Varuzhan Geghamyan, a Yerevan-based geopolitical strategist and regional security expert.
In a social media post on Thursday, he pointed to the reports titled “Armenia gives up the dream of Greater Armenia”, “The Armenian Genocide issue is a thing of the past” and the like being disseminated by Turkish media outlets and TV channels.
“The real reason for the jubilation, however, is that Turkey sees an opportunity to finally seize all of Armenia, and the illegal concessions being made on behalf of the Armenian people facilitate and accelerate the achievement of this goal,” the expert wrote.
“It is no coincidence that the Turkish social media platforms are now referring to the Armenian prime minister as “our governor of Ermenistan”. We should gather at Yerevan’s Republic Square on Sunday 26 May to support Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan and prevent such a scenario,” he added.
