Creation of any obstacle for Armenian church 'unacceptable', singer says
Popular Armenian singer Razmik Amyan has condemned the latest incident involving the leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Riot police on Tuesday attempted to block Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and many other clergymen from entering the Sardarapat Memorial as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan led an official ceremony there to mark the 106th anniversary of the first independent Armenian republic. They were later allowed to visit the memorial.
“The creation of any obstacle for the Armenian Apostolic Church and its head is unacceptable,” Razmik Amyan said on social media.
“I am a follower of the Armenian Apostolic Church which I am proud of,” he added.
