In pictures: Police detain protesters outside Armenian Foreign Ministry
Members and supporters of the Tavush for the Homeland movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan on Friday staged a protest outside the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
They demanded a meeting with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan or other ministry officials, seeking explanations for the latest statements from Azerbaijan and Turkey.
However, no official stepped out to meet with demonstrators. Tensions mounted in the area as riot police cordoning off the Foreign Ministry building used brute force to detain protesters.
