Artak Dashyan leaves Pyunik
Pyunik midfielder Artak Dashyan is leaving the club after spending two and a half years with it. The contract between the parties has expired, the club said in a statement on Saturday.
Dashyan moved to the Yerevan team in winter 2022. He won the Armenian championship in the first season with our club and was invited to the Armenia national team for the first time after an 8-year break and is still one of the key players of the national team. Let’s remember the goal scored by Dashyan in the away match against the Turkey national team.
In the European Cup period of the same year, Dashyan gradually regained his best condition and helped our team to win important victories. Artak was the one who scored the first goal in the history of Pyunik in the group stage of the European Cup. He scored a goal against Basel in an away match, the fans will also remember the midfielder's shot from the center of the pitch to the goal of the Swedish Kalmar. The 34-year-old footballer also wrote his name in our history by scoring a very important goal for Pyunik in the decisive match of the championship against Shirak, after which our club became the 16-time champion of Armenia. Artak also wore the captain's armband in the 2023/24 season.
Dashyan played a total of 98 matches in the pomegranate jersey, scoring 15 goals and 4 assists.
"We thank Artak for his self-dedication and wish him success in his future career," Pyunik said.
