Violinist Diana Adamyan to open Khachaturian International Competition
The 20th Khachaturian International Competition is launching at Yerevan's Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on June 6, at 7pm. This year, the competition will be held in the violin category.
Following the tradition, the opening ceremony and concert will be held on the birthday of the great composer.
The winner of the 16th Khachaturian International Competition, violinist Diana Adamyan, will perform as a soloist, organizers said.
The concert will be conducted by Sergey Smbatyan of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
The program features Aram Khachaturian's Happy Birthday Variations, Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia and Violin Concerto in D minor.
