Arsen Babayan: Police violence attributed to chief's orders
Lawyer Arsen Babayan has shared a video showing the police violence against Former Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ashot Harutyunyan at a protest outside the Armenian Foreign Ministry on Friday.
“The video makes it clear how everything started. People are holding a peaceful rally. In the frame is Ashot Harutyunyan, who is standing with his back to police officers, and suddenly brutal force is used against Mr. Harutyunyan from behind. Then the arrow shows the brutality was ordered by the police chief,” the lawyer wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
“Ashot Harutyunyan was arrested on suspicion of using violence against police and provoking mass unrest,” he added.
