Armenian governor vague about withdrawal of Russian border guards
Russian border guards have withdrawn from their positions near Nerkin Hand in Armenia’s southern Syunik Province, its governor said.
“Russian border guards have left the areas where they were deployed following the 44-day war,” Robert Ghukasyan told reporters on Wednesday.
“No Russian guards have remained in Nerkin Hand,” the governor noted.
Meanwhile, he could not clarify whether Russian troops had withdrawn from other border areas as well, adding the process was carried out in stages.
