Archbishop Bagrat insists on mediated talks with Azerbaijan
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan insists on mediated peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In an interview on Saturday, he stated that the OSCE Minsk Group could serve as a good platform for Armenia and Azerbaijan to hold negotiations and reach a peace deal.
Galstanyan rejected the ongoing talks between the Armenian and Azerbaijani governments as “imitation” amid Baku’s pressure on Yerevan to make concessions.
“We favor real negotiations addressing all issues on the table and marked by a real desire for signing a peace deal without coercion and threat of force,” the cleric said.
“Importantly, the talks should involve guarantors and the OSCE Minsk Group serves as the best platform for it,” Galstanyan added.
