Armenian police search vehicles after report of missing Azeri soldier
Armenian police began searching vehicles passing through the country’s regions following the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry’s report that one of its soldiers went missing “in yet unknown circumstances” near the Armenia-Azerbaijan border in Nakhichevan on Monday.
It remains unclear whether the searches are part of the Pashinyan government’s rare strict measures to find the serviceman should he had crossed into Armenia or an effort to stop people from reaching Yerevan and joining the ongoing protests led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan.
