Blocking streets an ineffective way of struggle, political analyst says
Blocking streets is not an effective way of struggle, political analyst Suren Surenyants claims.
His comments come as protesters led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan have blocked Baghramyan Avenue adjacent to the Armenian parliament since early Monday, demanding the ouster of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his cabinet.
"Blocking streets is ineffective if it does not paralyze the work of state institutions and the processes do not lead to a revolutionary outcome,” the expert wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
“Amid a lack of these components, you lose more people than you gain among the undecided part of society (i.e. the majority) as a result of street blockades,” Surenyants added.
