Armenian MP reacts to false Azeri accusations of border fire
Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has reacted to Azerbaijan’s latest false claims that Armenian forces opened fire at its combat positions in Nakhichevan implying escalating border tensions.
In a social media post on Friday, the MP from the opposition Pativ Unem faction opined that Azerbaijan’s false accusations of ceasefire violations by the Armenian military could be aimed at pressuring the Armenian government to resume the delimitation process in other border sections and make new concessions.
“According to the previous statements, after the handover of the four villages in Tavush Province to Azerbaijan, they are expected to begin work on the surrender of the other four villages, three of which are in Tavush, while the other is Tigranashen in Ararat Province (near Nakhichevan),” Abrahamyan wrote.
“Azerbaijan will naturally try to extort more concessions from Armenia as soon as possible as it can hardly imagine a more favorable situation than the one under the current government in Armenia," the MP added.
