Mkhitaryan says door to Armenian national team 'closed' for him
Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan says the door to the Armenian national team is “closed” for him.
"Everything has a beginning and an ending," he told an interview during Newmag Summer Fest 2024 on Monday in response to a question about his possible comeback to the national team.
"It is better to put a point one step earlier than two steps later. It’s better that you make this decision yourself rather than someone else. I can say that I do not regret any decision I made, both in my football career and beyond,” the footballer said.
“I am happy with my decisions and track record. Some people might say I could have had a better or worse career, but I believe there is no escape from fate. We must accept what we have and be grateful to God for everything he has given us. Unfortunately, the door to the national team is closed for me," Mkhitaryan added.
