Armenian court employees go on strike, demand pay rise
Employees of the Armenian Administrative Court in Yerevan went on a strike on Monday to demand higher wages citing heavy workload.
The workers, who include law clerks and secretaries, began the protest at 12:30pm.
"Since 2023, the judicial authorities have repeatedly raised this painful issue by different means," the Judicial Department said.
"The Judicial Department and other judicial bodies have taken all possible actions within their power and the competent agencies stay focused on the issue," it added.
Sputnik Armenia quoted one of the employees as saying that the court administration failed to deliver on a promise to increase their wages from July 1. The protesters urged other court employees to join the strike.
