Tatoyan rejects Azerbaijan's false claims of peace with Armenia
Former Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan has rejected Azerbaijan’s false claims about its intention to make peace with Armenia, stating they are aimed at misleading the international community.
“Under the veil of peace, Azerbaijan pursued a policy of hostility,” he said in a short video posted on Facebook on Monday.
Tatoyan highlights that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s rhetoric is more aggressive when addressed to its internal audience than an external audience.
He states the state propaganda of hatred and enmity towards Armenians helps Aliyev’s regime maintain its grip on power and prepares the ground for fresh military aggression against Armenia.
"In fact, the statements on Azerbaijan’s desire for peace are deceptive, they are aimed at misleading the international community,” the ex-ombudsman added.
