Economist: Armenia can serve as bridge between economic unions for first time
Armenia can become a unique bridge between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), economist Suren Parsyan claims.
“For the first time in its history, Armenia has a good chance to serve as a bridge between different economic unions, countries and integration systems,” he told a debate on Tuesday.
Highlighting the key role of the Russian market for Armenia’s economy, Parsyan also insisted on the country’s access to the European and U.S. markets to boost its economy.
“The Russian market is important for us and accounts for a significant share of Armenia's overall exports, but the EU, U.S. and other Western markets serve as vital alternatives for economic development,” he stated.
Parsyan called for the use of all opportunities to ensure Armenia’s economic growth.
