Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Estonian counterpart Margus Tsahkna on Thursday discussed the recent developments in the South Caucasus region, including the normalization of relations between Armenia and its neighbors.

Speaking at a joint news conference following their bilateral talks in Yerevan, Mirzoyan reiterated Armenia’s readiness to fully normalize relations with Turkey, establish diplomatic ties and open the shared border for citizens of third countries and diplomatic passport holders.

“We continuously reconfirm our determination to this arrangement and I truly believe that it’s already the time to implement the arrangements,” the minister remarked.

Speaking about the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, Mirzoyan said the two countries had virtually finalized the text of the draft pace treaty.

“Armenia is ready to finalize the text within a month and sign the peace treaty with Azerbaijan. I cannot say that we’ve seen the positive reaction of our Azerbaijani counterparts to the proposal to sign the peace treaty within a month,” the official said.

“I truly believe that we do have the momentum to close the page of the conflict in the South Caucasus and bring peace to our region. I believe this peace will be beneficial for all the peoples and countries in the region,” Mirzoyan added.
