Armenian chess team wins silver at European Youth Championship
The Armenian chess team under the leadership of GM Artashes Minasian is the silver medalist of the European Youth Team Championship, the Chess Federation reported.
The Armenian team was represented by GM Emin Ohanyan, IM Arsen Davtyan, FM Robert Piliposyan, FM Erik Gasparyan and FM Benik Agasarov.
In the last round on Thursday, Armenia beat the Austrian team with a score of 3:1.
The champion is the Israeli team, which lost only to the Armenian team.
"We congratulate our chess players, wishing them new achievements," the federation said.
The European Youth Team Championship was held in Rhodes, Greece, from June 21 to 27.
