Yeghishe Kirakosyan's spox denies reports of his possible resignation
Armenia's representative on international legal matters, Yeghishe Kirakosyan, has no plans to step down, his spokesperson Hasmik Samvelyan told Aysor.am on Friday, refuting media reports.
Citing unnamed diplomatic sources, the Sacred Struggle Telegram channel of the Tavush for the Homeland movement reported earlier that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's government was willing to fulfill Azerbaijan’s demands to withdraw international lawsuits filed against Baku after the 2020 war, which “angered” Kirakosyan.
“Yeghishe Kirakosyan strongly opposes the withdrawal of lawsuits and plans to resign while on vacation,” the movement said.
"The news spread by the Tavush for the Homeland movement without reference to credible sources does not correspond to reality,” Samvelyan said. “There is no such decision at the moment and no such processes are underway. The office continues to fulfill its functions to represent Armenia's interests in international courts.”
