Russian Defense Ministry says Vardan Harutyunyan saved 12 fellow soldiers
The Russian Defense Ministry has posted on Telegram a photo of Russian army soldier Vardan Harutyunyan, who evacuated 12 wounded fellow servicemen from the battlefield under mortar fire.
The ministry said in a statement that Harutyunyan retrieved the wounded from the front, brought them to the evacuation site, provided them with first aid and loaded them into the vehicle that arrived to pick them up.
While they were being transported, he continued to treat them and monitor their condition. The lives of the soldiers were saved, the Defense Ministry said.
