New cyclone set to hit Armenia later this week, expert says
Rain, thunderstorms and high winds delivered by an active cyclone are expected to persist across Armenia on Tuesday and Wednesday, warns Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center
Rainfall will stop on Thursday before a heatwave sweeps in Armenia, with temperatures rising by up to 15C.
“A new cyclone is set to make landfall in Armenia late on July 6, with rains resuming across the country on July 7, 8 and 9,” Surenyan told Panorama.am.
“Downpours and hail are forecast for some areas. Temperatures are expected to drop again starting from July 7," he added.
The monthly outlook reveals that temperatures in July are forecasted to measure slightly above average with well above average rain.
