Yerevan district head arrested
Around a dozen employees of Yerevan’s Arabkir administrative district administration were arrested following searches conducted by the Investigative Committee and the National Security Service as part of a criminal probe on Wednesday.
Sources tell Panorama.am that Arabkir district head Aram Azatyan is among those arrested.
Before being appointed to the post in 2022, Azatyan had served as deputy director of Yerevan’s Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex.
Media reports suggest that his deputy David Balasanyan was also arrested.
No other details were immediately available.
