Russian-Iranian relations to strengthen irrespective of election outcome, Putin says
Russian-Iranian relations will continue to strengthen irrespective of the Iranian presidential election outcome, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.
"I have no doubt that our relations will be strengthening irrespective of the outcome of the presidential election in your country," Interfax quoted Putin as saying at a meeting with acting Iranian President Mohammad Mokhber.
He wished the people of Iran a successful presidential election runoff.
Mokhber agreed that Iranian-Russian relations would not change after the presidential election in Iran.
The bilateral relations are so profound and unwavering that any change in the Iranian government will have no effect on them, he said.
