'The ball is in Azerbaijan's court', says Armenian speaker
Armenia is ready to sign a peace deal with Azerbaijan as soon as possible, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan said on Friday.
“Armenia does not make any efforts to delay the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan,” he told a joint press conference with members of a U.S. congressional delegation led by Senator Roger Wicker in Yerevan.
"We are ready to sign it. The ball is now in Azerbaijan’s court," Simonyan stated.
U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, reiterated the U.S. commitment to advance the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan
"We want the peace agreement to be signed as soon as possible," he emphasized.
