U.S. continues to work for diplomatic resolution between Armenia, Azerbaijan
The United States continues to work for a diplomatic resolution between Armenia and Azerbaijan, U.S. Department of State spokesperson Matthew Miller said on Tuesday.
At a daily press briefing, he was asked to say whether U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken planned to host talks between the foreign ministers of the two countries in Washington on the sidelines of the NATO summit.
“I don’t have any announcements to make about – regarding the schedule. You know that that is always the case,” Miller said. “We continue to work for a diplomatic resolution.”
The Armenian Foreign Ministry reports that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov will meet in Washington on Wednesday for a fresh round of U.S.-mediated talks.
