Opposition MP again slams surrender of Armenian territories to Azerbaijan
Armenian MP Artur Khachatryan, who represents the opposition Hayastan faction, again hit out at Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government for the surrender of border areas in Tavush Province to Azerbaijan as part of a delimitation deal.
Addressing a parliament session on Friday, he underlined that the Cadaster Committee head refused to say how much Armenian territory was ceded to Azerbaijan following the statement that property cadastral certificates in the Tavush village of Kirants had been mistakenly issued.
“I asked the Cadaster Committee chief to disclose the exact figures. Factually, the current authorities are hiding from the people how much land they gave away to Azerbaijan,” Khachatryan remarked.
“Rest assured that not a single inch of sovereign Armenian territory has been ceded to anyone,” said Hakob Arshakyan, a deputy parliament speaker.
