Pashinyan condemns attack on Trump, wishes him speedy recovery
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan condemned the assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday and wished him a speedy recovery.
The Republican presidential candidate was at a rally in Pennsylvania when shots were fired and he was injured in the right ear.
The FBI has named 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the man suspected of carrying out the gun attack. He has been killed.
"We strongly condemn the attack on 45th U.S. President & presidential candidate Donald Trump," Pashinyan said in a social media post.
"Such acts of violence have no place in democratic society, as they undermine the core principles of democracy & rule of law that we deeply value. I wish Donald Trump a speedy recovery," he added.
