Armenian Defense Ministry says plane crashed during training exercise
The Armenian Defense Ministry reports that its military training plane was involved in a crash on Friday morning.
The Interior Ministry said earlier that an An-2 airplane crashed near the town of Yeghvard in Kotayk Province, killing two people.
"It’s a training plane that belongs to the Defense Ministry,” the ministry spokesman, Aram Torosyan, told Panorama.am.
He said that the military airplane crashed during a training exercise.
“We offer our condolences to the family and fellow soldiers of the deceased pilots," the spokesman added.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
