Armenia reaffirms proposal for joint probe mechanism with Azerbaijan
Armenia has reaffirmed its proposal to set up a joint mechanism with Azerbaijan to investigate allegations of ceasefire violations.
"In recent days, the official sources of Azerbaijan have resumed reports about the violation of the ceasefire regime by the Armenian armed forces on the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border," the Armenian government said in a statement on Monday.
"The Armenian Defense Ministry denied this information. Nevertheless, Azerbaijani sources continue making similar publications, seasoning them with geopolitical accents.
"The Armenian Prime Minister's Office reaffirms its proposal to create a joint mechanism between Armenia and Azerbaijan to investigate cases of ceasefire violations and/or information about them.
"We reaffirm the Armenian government's commitment to the peace agenda within the framework of the already reached public agreements," reads the statement.
