First-ever satellite sensor installed on lesser spotted eagle in Armenia
The branch of German Nature Protection Union (NABU) in Armenia has installed a satellite sensor on the lesser spotted eagle as part of its study of birds of prey for the first time in the country.
The satellite sensor will make it possible to study the local and migratory movements of the species, which in turn will make conservation more manageable, NABU Armenia reported on Tuesday.
The work was carried out within the framework of German Nature Protection Union program “New Partnership for the Conservation of Birds of Prey in Eastern Europe”, funded by NABU International and VGP funds
"We are grateful to the Armenian Ministry of Environment for cooperation," the organization said.
