Iranian envoy denies reports of Tehran-Yerevan arms deal
Iranian Ambassador to Yerevan Mehdi Sobhani on Thursday categorically rejected the media reports of a military deal between Iran and Armenia.
He lashed out at the unreliable media that "have a history of publishing false information and biased analyses" about Iran, the Mehr News Agency reported.
The ambassador claimed that such reports were aimed at "influencing the development of friendly relations between Iran and countries of the region" and emphasized Iran's support for the establishment of peace, stability and economic development in the Caucasus region.
Earlier on Thursday, the Armenian Defense Ministry dismissed the reports that it had signed a secret $500 million arms deal with neighboring Iran as fictitious and false.
