Armenia driver flees to Georgia after deadly car crash
An Armenian driver involved in a deadly car crash has fled from Armenia to Georgia to avoid prosecution.
The 41-year-old suspect, identified as Armen Tonoyan, went into hiding on his way to the Gyumri Medical Center and crossed into Georgia on Friday, police reported.
Drugs were found during the search of a BMW X3 driven by Tonoyan.
Andranik Avagyan, a 45-year-old resident of Shirak Province, who was in the car with Tonoyan at the time of the accident, was arrested on suspicion of using drugs after he admitted that they belonged to him.
The crash on the Gyumri-Vanadzor highway killed a young couple and their 7-year-old son.
