Armenia-Turkey border checkpoint ready for use, official says
The Margara checkpoint on the Armenia-Turkey border is ready to operate for third-country nationals and diplomatic passport holders, State Revenue Committee (SRC) Chairman Rustam Badasyan said on Thursday.
“The Margara border checkpoint is ready to serve citizens of third countries and diplomatic passport holders,” Badasyan told reporters.
Meanwhile, the SRC chief said that a political decision was required to open the Margara checkpoint.
His comments came after the Armenian and Turkish special envoys, Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic, held fresh normalization talks on the border on Tuesday.
Armenia and Turkey agreed to open their shared border for citizens of third countries and diplomatic passport holders earlier in 2023.
