Lawyer calls for punishment for police violence against Artsakh man
Lawyer Arsen Babayan calls for punishment for all those responsible for police violence against the brother of Roman Yeritsyan, a lawyer from Artsakh.
The man, Aram Yeritsyan, was beaten up by patrol police officers while being arrested for illegally parking his car in Yerevan on Thursday.
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction on Sunday rejected a request to remand him in custody and ruled his arrest unlawful.
Babayan welcomed the court decision in a social media post on Monday, calling it a "preliminary victory".
"I hope that the competent authorities will stay true to their mission and the real culprits will be held to account,” he wrote.
