Armenia welcomes Gaza ceasefire push
The Armenian Foreign Ministry has welcomed the initiative of the US, Egypt and Qatar regarding a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal.
"Profoundly realizing importance of ceasefire and hostage release when human lives and reg peace are at stake, Armenia welcomes initiative by leaders of the US, Egypt and Qatar. Hopefully, tangible outcome will be achieved during next discussions to bring relief to suffering people," the ministry said in a post on X on Friday.
The three countries, which have been trying to mediate a deal, said in a joint statement the talks could take place in either Doha or Cairo, Reuters reported.
"A framework agreement is now on the table with only the details of implementation left to conclude," they said. "There is no further time to waste nor excuses from any party for further delay. It is time to release the hostages, begin the ceasefire, and implement this agreement."
