Yerevan’s Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction on Monday began the trial of sixteen anti-government protesters.
Fifteen of them have been charged with hooliganism, while another with involvement in a mass riot at a protest demanding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s ouster outside the Armenian parliament on 12 June.
Four defendants have been remanded in custody, while eight others are placed under house arrest.
