Quake cracks house walls in Armenian village
The earthquake that hit Armenia last night caused no destruction in the village of Yeranos in Gegharkunik Province, but left cracks in the walls of some village houses, Yeranos community head Sasha Baveyan said on Monday.
The 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck nine kilometers northwest of the town of Martuni in Gegharkunik at around 2am.
"The quake has caused no casualties or destruction, but has left cracks in some residential buildings. The commission has been working since early morning, recording the damage caused," Baveyan told Panorama.am.
The villagers felt the tremors of the earthquake and left their homes.
“There was no panic,” the mayor added.
