Armenian MP: Azerbaijan's factor used in operations against Iran
Following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Iran’s possible retaliation to it, discussions on the deployment of secret Israeli military facilities in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the real threats emanating from them have once again intensified in Iran, says Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition Pativ Unem faction in the Armenian parliament.
“The fact remains that Israel has shown strong interest in the occupation of Artsakh and especially its southern part adjacent to the border with Iran with an outright military and political support to Azerbaijan,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
"On the other hand, the war against Artsakh and its occupation also had a military and political significance for those forces that tried to tighten the noose around Iran and expand the front. Today, more than ever, Azerbaijan's factor is used in operations against Iran, from intelligence to preparation of possible attacks," Abrahamyan said, accusing the Armenian authorities of failure to respond to the regional challenges.
