Armenia denies Azeri claims of border shooting
The Defense Ministry of Armenia has rejected Azerbaijan's accusations of cross-border fire.
"The statement disseminated by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, alleging that on August 16, at approximately 3:20 a.m., the Armenian armed forces fired upon Azerbaijani combat positions located in the western part of the border, does not correspond to reality," the ministry said.
"The Office of the Armenian Prime Minister has proposed to the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, through diplomatic channels, the establishment of a bilateral mechanism for investigating cases of ceasefire violations," it added.
