29 Covid cases reported in Armenia in two weeks
Armenia’s Ministry of Health warned of a global surge in some infectious diseases.
First Deputy Health Minister Lena Nanushyan on Saturday discussed the epidemiological situation in Armenia and the region with top specialists from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Center for Infectious Diseases and other health agencies.
Nanushyan stressed the need for tougher measures in educational institutions in order to prevent the increase of measles, whooping cough, chicken pox and other infectious diseases.
The Omicron variant of Covid-19 is also on the rise worldwide.
Health authorities reported 29 cases of Covid-19 in Armenia in the past two weeks.
Although the disease is not severe, the vaccine against Covid-19 in Armenia is highly effective against all circulating subtypes.
