In pictures: Opposition politician Armen Ashotyan's trial continues in Yerevan
The Anti-Corruption Court in Yerevan on Tuesday resumed the trial of opposition politician Armen Ashotyan.
Ashotyan, a vocal government critic and deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) who served as Armenia’s education minister from 2012-2016, was arrested on 16 June 2023 on charges of abuse of power and money laundering strongly denied by him as politically motivated.
His fellows, relatives, friends and supporters welcomed Ashotyan with applause as he entered the courtroom. The trial is being held behind closed doors.
The Panorama.am photographer managed to take several photos before the start of the court hearing.
