MP Tigran Abrahamyan warns of risks for new regional escalation
Iran's concerns about and strong opposition to the so-called “Zangezur corridor” not only reflect the country’s vital interests, but also hint at possible unpredictable developments in the region, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan says.
“Being presumably the most dangerous provision on the Armenian-Azerbaijani agenda, it not only threatens Armenia’s security and sovereignty, but also includes major risks for a new regional escalation,” he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
Abrahamyan, who represents the opposition Pativ Unem faction, accused the Armenian authorities of failure to respond to security challenges.
