Missing soldier's brother accuses Armenian government of lying
The brother of an Armenian soldier missing in the 2020 Artsakh war on Friday condemned the failure of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government to incorporate the prisoner issue in a draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan as “unacceptable.”
“The authorities have been telling us lies for four years,” the man said as he joined protests outside foreign embassies and international organizations in Yerevan to demand efforts towards the release of Armenian prisoners held by Baku.
“They’ve given us false hope and told us different things every single they, thus dragging out the settlement of the issue to carry out their plans,” he added.
Another protesting woman held Pashinyan responsible for Armenia’s war casualties and the capture of servicemen, calling him "an enemy of the nation".
“Enough is enough, we cannot stand it anymore. We can’t just forget our children,” another said.
