Blinken reaffirms importance of durable peace between Armenia, Azerbaijan
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken reaffirmed the importance of a durable and dignified peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan in a phone call with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday, the State Department reported.
"Secretary Blinken welcomed recent progress between the parties, including an agreement on a border delimitation regulation," State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a statement.
"Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Pashinyan discussed the expanding U.S.-Armenia relationship, including cooperation on energy, trade and investment, and education.
"The Secretary reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to ongoing efforts to support a prosperous, democratic, and independent Armenia that benefits the people of Armenia and the broader Caucasus region," he added.
