Matenadaran's delegation visits Morgan Library and Museum in New York
On September 12, the Yerevan Matenadaran delegation visited the renowned Morgan Library and Museum in New York, which was founded 100 years ago and has a rare collection of written heritage, including manuscripts, old printed books, and documents.
During the visit, the delegation learned about the restoration and exhibition activities of the centre. At the end of the visit, they also had discussions with Roger Wieck, the Department Head of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscripts, and Sylvie Merian, a specialist in manuscripts, the institute reported.
Director Ara Khzmalyan presented the goals and history of the "The Faces of Memory" international seminar and invited manuscript restorers to participate. Besides, they discussed the display of Armenian manuscripts at the Morgan Library Museum and outlined the planned sequence of works in this direction. The delegation also saw some of the best samples of Armenian manuscripts stored in the centre's collections.
